CHURCH ARTICLES OF FAITH

We believe in one true and living God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; that these Three are One, and are harmoniously equal in infinite power, wisdom, justice, holiness, mercy, love and truth. (1 John 5:7)

We believe that God created man good, able to stand but liable to fall, and that man fell from this pure estate and brought himself under condemnation and death, and that man is wholly unable to deliver himself from this condition. (1 Cor. 15:22, Rom. 3:10, John 6:44, Rom. 3:10-20, 1 Cor. 2:14)

We believe that God chose a people unto salvation or eternal life and that this choice was eternal, particular and unconditional. (Eph. 1:4-5, John 10:27-29, John 6:39-44)

We believe that God was in Christ and that by the sacrifice of Jesus, all whom God chose unto salvation were forever redeemed from the curse of the law and made righteous in Him. (Heb. 2:13-15, Eph. 1:6, Col. 2:10, Rom. 8:29)

We believe that all who were redeemed by the Son will in time be effectually called by the Holy Spirit, “Born Again,” and made partakers of the Divine nature.

(John 6:37, Eph. 2:1, 1 Cor. 6:14)

We believe that all who are regenerated (effectually called) will be finally saved. Not one can be finally lost. (John 10:28, Ps. 37:28)

We believe that the bodies of all men will be resurrected from the grave and that the joys of the righteous will be eternal and the punishment of the wicked everlasting. (John 5:28-29)

We believe that all who are called of God are under obligation to do good works and that in keeping of His commandments there is great reward. (Eph. 2:10)

We believe that baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances of the Church and that believers are the only proper subjects for baptism and that immersion is the only mode; and that none except those who have been regularly baptized are admitted in the Communion Service; and that the washing of the saints’ feet is an example of love and humility which should be practiced by the members of our Church. (Rom. 6:4, Col. 2:12, 1 Cor. 11:24-29, Acts 8:26-38, John 12:1-17)

We believe that the Church is the highest ecclesiastical authority on earth, subject alone unto God for all her acts and that her form of government is congregational, each member having an equal voice in all her acts. (Col. 1:18)

We believe the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments (of which we consider the King James Translation to be the best) to be the inspired word of God, and that they alone are to govern God’s people both in faith and practice. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
